Hope House Mutakura

Hope House Mutakura

The first Hope House in Jabe, was opened in October 2004. the second, in a poorer area of the capital city called Kanyosha, was opened in October 2005. These 2 Hope Houses were overseen by Ami and Jean, local men who were trained to care for and parent the ex-streetboys.

In 2011 these 2 rented homes were closed, and the boys all moved into the purpose built home in Mutakura. At present 20 boys and young men live in the Mutakura Hope House family. Here they are taught life skills, as well as how to live in community and show love and respect to all people. Those who are orphans are given the gift of family and are learning to dream again…
